
Following up on our recent post about snorkeling in Hawaii, here’s a good eco-formational piece/travelogue by Alissa Everett, who recently went swimming with manta rays off Hawaii’s Keauhou Bay. Once labeled “devil fish” by sailors who feared the horn-like features on their heads were a sign of evil, mantas can grow to have wingspans of more than 20 feet and weigh up to 3,000 pounds.
