Over the past 18 years, Reefmaker’s David Walter has deployed over 14,000 private artificial reefs in the waters around Alabama and Florida. The process is relatively simple: choose a spot where you want to place a reef; call David and order one of his reefs (prices range from $150 for a FAD to $1350 for a 20’ x 8’ shipping container); he obtains the permits and deploys the reef. You can ride along if you like. Check out Reefmaker’s website for a 3-minute video of one of his reefs.
