Diver and underwater filmmaker Ben Cropp recently announced that he had located a wrecked plane in 20 feet of water “about half a mile” off the tip of Cape York, . Claiming the WWII wreck has a wing span of more than 90 feet, Cropp believes the plane is either a B24 Liberator bomber, a B17 Fortress, or a Japanese Emily flying boat.
